Credit Cards, Cash, or Travelers Cheques:
Credit Cards American Express, Visa and MasterCard are the most widely accepted credit cards. Diners Club holders may experience difficulties. It is advisable to be prepared with more than one Credit Card when travelling.
Cash

Hotels will not exchange foreign cash currency. Do not to bring AUD$.
It is advisable to have a small amount of USD$ cash on arrival (particularly $1 notes for tipping). There are Foreign Exchange Bureaux at most international airports on arrival.

Cash can be accessed directly from your bank account in Australia, if the following symbols PLUS, INTERLINK, STAR, GLOBAL ACCESS, CIRRUS appear on the back of your ATM card. Note: A bank fee will be charged by the US withdrawing bank as well as your own bank for this service (from $1 to $3 per transaction).

If your VISA credit card is linked with your bank account, you can withdraw a cash advance from ATM machines. Check with your Bank regarding access and associated fees.

Travelers Cheques USD$ are recommended and can then be exchanged at most hotels, restaurants, or stores with your passport as proof of ID.
