October 20, 2008 is the launch date of the first Qantas Airbus A380 flight from Los Angeles to Melbourne, followed on October 24, 2008 to Sydney. Both will depart from the Tom Bradley International Terminal and feature First, Business, Premium Economy and Economy seating.

U.S. mainland departures feature the Skybed business class sleeper seat on A380, 747-400 and A330-200 aircraft and offer personal seat back entertainment screens featuring award-winning audio visual on demand entertainment with over 1,000 program choices in all classes of service. Time flies in the air with Qantas. Premium economy service is being progressively introduced on selected flights from Los Angeles to Sydney and Melbourne from November 14, 2008 on 747-400 aircraft.
